Local Extension vs. Cloud Platform

Understand the two halves of Ultimate Web Scraper — free local extraction in your browser, and scheduled cloud extraction with proxies and integrations.

Ultimate Web Scraper has two execution environments. Knowing which one you're using explains where your data is, what it costs, and what features are available.

The Chrome extension (local)

Everything in the extension's tools runs inside your own browser:

  • Pages are loaded in your tabs, with your session — sites see a normal logged-in visitor.
  • Results are stored locally in your browser's storage and shown in the Data Table.
  • Local extraction is free with no page or row caps, and never consumes cloud credits.
  • Your data leaves the machine only if you export to Google Sheets or use cloud features.

The trade-offs: your computer has to be on and the browser open, there are no proxies, and there's no scheduling.

The Cloud Platform

The Cloud Platform runs the same kinds of extractions in cloud browsers:

Cloud runs require a paid plan and consume credits — 1 credit per page extracted.

Build and test locally. Configure an extraction with the extension on your machine — it's free, instant, and interactive.

Send it to the cloud. Use Run in Cloud in the side panel to hand that working configuration to a cloud browser.

Schedule and integrate. Add a schedule, proxies, Google Sheets export, or a webhook — and manage everything from the dashboard.
